GCL congratulates HRBoss Win 2014 Cloud Award for Best Software-as-a-Service

The first Asian company to be honored in landmark victory at international Cloud Awards.
Singapore, January 29, 2014 - HRBoss, the Asia-based pioneers of HR and staffing technology, were today announced winners of the 'Best Software-as-a-Service' (outside US) at the international Cloud Awards 2014. This is the first time that an Asian company has been honored at the awards, marking another milestone for the fast-growing technology company and their suite of Big Data analytical and ATS/ CRM tools.

Bernie Schiemer, CEO and founder, commented, "To be the first Asian company to be recognized at these awards is a fantastic and humbling achievement. We are the only global data-driven software company that provide services for both corporate HR and staffing/recruiting firms, so we are looking forward to expanding our reach into the US and the UK later this year. We want to be the first Asian software business to take on the big guys on their own turf, to become a major disruptor in the industry - we can't wait!"

HRBoss beat 5 finalists in their category of Best Software-as-a-Service (outside US) with their flagship applicant tracking solution, HiringBoss. Finalists in their category included Xero, BeGlobal, ECmanaged and Workshare. Other categories this year included Best Cloud Infrastructure, Data Innovation of the Year, "Best in Mobile" Cloud Solution and Most Promising Start-Up.

Schiemer added, 'The Cloud Awards are one of the highest accolades in our sector but, to be honest, the competition was incredible and I am sure it could have gone either way. We actually use Xero and I think they are a great company, so even to be put in the same category was an honor in itself. Also being an Asian based business focused on the HR space really helps to bring more recognition to the continent and the amazing sector we work in. I am proud of the efforts of the knockout team we have here at HRBoss, they truly deserve the recognition."

Identifying and celebrating excellence in the field of cloud computing, the cloud computing awards program encourages entries from across the entire globe - the US, Canada, Australasia and EMEA regions. Entrants can be from organizations of any size, including start-ups.

Over 200 organizations entered, with entries coming from across the globe and including Europe, the US and Middle East.

Cloud Awards organizer Larry Johnson said: "The standard of entries in this year's cloud computing awards was not just high. It was in the stratosphere, with astronomical competition.

"We are extremely pleased to endorse HRBoss as a cloud services provider giving added value to its clients, disrupting business models and leveraging cloud technologies to be the best of the best."

The award is the latest in a series of accolades for the Singapore headquartered firm. Recent accolades include 'Best HR Big Data Solution' at the China Pioneer Awards and 'Best Software-as-a-Service' at the Singapore SiTF awards. Currently, the HRBoss suite of solutions includes the applicant tracking solution, HiringBoss, the HR Big Data platform, EmployeeBoss, and the CRM for recruiting companies, StaffingBoss.
