Washington, DC, January 30, 2014 - HDR Engineering, Inc., a global architecture, engineering, consulting, and construction firm, has committed to an increase in its partnership engagement with WTS International, the association for the global advancement of women in transportation. An historically Champion-level partner in support of the association, HDR has announced it will increase its partnership with WTS to the Trailblazer level, making a substantial commitment in support of the association's programs and operations.

Dorri Raposa, Senior Vice President and Global Director of Client Development for Transport at HDR, made the announcement. "HDR has been a longtime supporter of WTS. In recognition of our commitment to the mission of WTS and to the women and men of HDR, we are pleased to become a Trailblazer Corporate Partner for 2014. At HDR, it's our people that matter most. And partnering with organizations like WTS provides significant resources for skill development aimed at our professional staff for their long-term career growth. We're delighted to continue our support of WTS in this way," she said.

WTS has been an active voice in the transportation industry since 1977, when its founders realized that professional development and recognition were needed to create industry and government advancement of women in the transportation field. In the 37 years since that time, the association has grown to an international network of nearly 6,000 transportation professionals, including both women and men. Much of the networking, professional development, and industry collaboration that happens at the association within its local chapters and on an international scale depend greatly on support from both the private and public sector.

"HDR has helped WTS generate high-caliber professional development and networking opportunities for WTS members across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, year after year. We take pride in our partnership with HDR and our other partners as we continue to grow in these countries with strategic plans for further global expansion. The workforce development initiatives supported by our partnerships to attract, retain, and advance women in transportation have a global impact on the world's infrastructure," said Marcia Ferranto, President and CEO at WTS.
