iBeacons are short range, Bluetooth Low Energy transmitters that can notify mobile devices when they come within 100 feet of the beacon. Geofences are virtual perimeters over geographical areas that are detected by GPS-enabled mobile devices. Planned for the event is a mobile digital scavenger hunt as well as other vendor related promotions, where attendees are eligible to win a total of up to $825,000 in prizes.
