GCL states L. Ron Hubbard's International Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests Hit Record Numbers of Winners from non-US countries

Of the 24 winners this year, 9 are from countries outside the US
Hollywood, California, January 06, 2014 - Stories and art from around the globe arrived to the contests in record numbers this year. But another record was also set, the number of countries that the winners come from reached a new highest ever mark at 10. The year drew winning entries from the usual United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, but this year also saw winners from Germany, Jamaica, Korea, Finland, Portugal and Russia.

The quarterly contest awards the following categories: Winner, Finalist, Semi-Finalist and Honorable Mention to the best quality stories and illustrations every quarter. The remaining entrants are encouraged to continue writing or illustrating and continue submitting. The vast majority have been and remain from the United States.

"We are seeing better quality stories and illustrations from around the globe on a routine basis," contest Director Joni Labaqui stated in a recent interview.

One of the most known and respected vehicles for supporting new and fledgling authors and illustrators, the world-acclaimed, free-to-enter global merit based contests called L. Ron Hubbard's Writers and Illustrators of the Future were created by international best-selling author L. Ron Hubbard.
