San Francisco, CA, December 11, 2013 - Lilitab LLC announces the completion of Apple MFi certification for its latest self-service payment kiosk, the LiliSwipe Magnetic Stripe Reader, designed to process secure transactions through an iPad 4th generation tablet with Lightning connector.
The LiliSwipe payment kiosk incorporates the MagTek MagneSafe 3-track card reader with Lilitab's patented Lilitab Pro line of tablet enclosures. Through the use of the fully integrated card reader, merchants can now offer enhanced touch screen interactions while simultaneously reducing their PCI scope with end-to-end encryption solutions. The integrated and modular design of Lilitab kiosks enable convenient self-service payment stations on any wall, surface or floor, reducing security concerns about device tampering and card data fraud.
Already certified for previous iPad models, LiliSwipe enclosures now provide secure payments using iPad 4th generation (Lightning connector) devices. Lilitab also updated the LilySwipe app (to Version 2.0), available in the Apple App Store, for quick device checkout as well as a software development kit (SDK) to support custom integration into POS applications. The new LilySwipe 2.0 app provides the same web-based user interface experience, but permits use of either 30 pin or Lightning connector products through use of a switch setting.
Lilitab Pro iPad kiosks can be used for assisted selling and as line-busting mobile payment terminals, with their convenient MagDock locking head unit. This straightforward lock reconnects with an easy magnetic click assuring immediate tablet charging. The colorful MagKey triggers the sleep sensor, placing the iPad into sleep mode to conserve battery life; its removal wakes the iPad for business at the exact same point without the need for tablet access.
Converting from the 30 pin to Lightning connector was an incredibly challenging but fun adventure, says Ken Maskrey, Director of Systems Engineering for Lilitab.
Lilitab's LiliSwipe Magnetic Stripe Reader is available immediately in limited quantities for early integration testing, with distribution planned worldwide in Q1 2014.
