GCL publishes Mobile Fitness App Aims to Innovate Using Game Technology

First Real-Time 3D Game Technology Powered Fitness App with the Focus on Proper Form for Tablets and Smart Phones Seeks Funding

ORLANDO, FL - MINDPED LLC., a mobile indie developer, has announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign aimed at supporting the development of their unique mobile fitness app using 3D video game technology. The campaign, ending December 6, 2013, will fund development of a tool for gym users that demonstrates correct form to avoid a full blown injury while also explaining common mistakes.

The 3D components of the app are designed to offer more dynamic views of performing an exercise that cannot be achieved with video used on other apps and popular websites. The 3D view allows the user to rotate, zoom and examine the exercise from any angle as if seeing an actual person performing the exercise in front of them. This essential tool greatly reduces the possibility of error that may occur from viewing only one perspective - or one dimension - of the exercise.

MINDPED also displays an exercise in “x-ray vision” mode. This allows the user to see proper skeletal movement and identify the muscles that are used. For added clarity, the highlighted muscles are color coded to display force and function through the aid of real-time 3D.

Additional features of the app include weekly routines, diets, tracking statistics, as well as note taking – ultimately functioning as the foundation of the workout. Where most fitness apps fail in presentation, ease of use, speed, and creativity, MINDPED aims to bring a streamlined approach to fitness routines. The goal is to improve the work out, not get in the way of it.

Thomas Kurylo, a 3D simulation developer by trade and the founder of MINDPED states, “I chose to create this app out of a need in the fitness industry that wasn’t being met. A quick look aid in the gym during a workout is monumental, especially for people who feel a pinch or pain during an exercise and want to know the cause, how it will affect their body and how to avoid it in their next set. I created it because of my personal experience in training.”
